christmas is any day we want it to be!

Who says that santa only comes in december? We had our first snow on the 19th and we decided that it was as good a time as any to have a white christmas.

a true friend

We all have friends. A lot gets talked about friendships. Everyone wants a true friend, and many of us believe that we have a friend who can be called a true friend. What kind of relations do friends share? When can we call a friend a true friend, and when can our friends take us as their true friend. After a romantic relationship, friendships are the most important relationships we can have. Though all of us have family and distant family, most of us rely on friends for advice, comfort and inspiration. How do we define a relation that can be called as one of true friendship?

The very first sign of a very good friend, not necessarily a true friend is that we are not worried about courtesies. You will call your friend at any hour and talk without any thought of time in your mind. Similarly, whenever you need support, you will call a very good friend and ask him/her to help you out. They expect the same from you. Another important trait of such relations is that we are not much worried about exposing ourselves. We speak about everything in our mind without worrying about what our friends will think. We are sure that they will take our talk in the spirit it was made. We are unguarded and open with friends in our talk.

A true friend is a little more than a very good friend. A true friend will support you even if it hurts his/her own interest. A true friend will understand your motives and needs and will be with you without any analysis or criticism. A true friend will come forward to help without any request and be with us in need without showing it or expecting anything in return. With a true friend, you can be sure that you will get help to the extent possible by him/her. Nothing will remain unturned. A mother is a true friend of her children. If we share such relations with an adult we can say that we are true friends.

A true friend makes no excuses of having work or appointments or anything but will be with you whenever you need him/her. In your hour of desperation, a true friend will support you even if the whole world opposes you. A true friend is not an opportunist. A true friend means to have someone who is like mother, as I said earlier. Instead of having hundreds of good friends, if you have a true friend, treat yourself lucky. If you can also become a true friend of someone, you will be blessed, because it is much easier for all of us to expect but very difficult to give. Be a true friend yourself first.

I am almost there, just a little more time to figure it out. I have all the images in an absolute position, and the text breaking around the images, no matter what screen resolution. It only works properly if someone is not viewing in another font size, then the text will hide behind the image.

I read that what needs to be done is float the image(s) in a div tag and manually place it in the text, like so:

So you'd have to manually place the ads wherever you want them to appear. Otherwise, they'll just be at the top and bottom of the paragraphs, and then the paragraphs will wrap around them. But no, it'll make the text as editable as ever. All the float does is cause the element in question to go where you want and have stuff wrap around it".

Fall pictures

We are coming to the end of a great season of learning a few things from nature. We've experienced a swarm of migrating ruby throated hummingbirds, yep, these cute little birds fight, (one stayed a couple of days too long guarding his booty) we've watched plants shudder when we douse them with cold water, and we've learned a few botanical names. I also bricked over our old two step with some old world brick in anticipation of our old age. We are greatful for a full season. :) try adding text here again.....

Rob, it was a pleasure meeting with you this week, your enthusiasm for your home & backyard entertaining area is refreshing.
After talking with you, I have read your previous message, and I am re-thinking your idea of an Eola sized monument. You may still be able to create on this scale with a few small changes to your covered deck roof. Remember me talking of a pergola type roof?
You could do both. If you cut in a little to your covered porch in the fountain area it would open up the fountain area & not feel so confined and also let the heat out. The illusion of openness with it open to the sky is intriguing. Also tying your deck roof to the wall with the same pergola style rafters creates an even larger deck area & makes it a part of the house, which balances it with the house instead of letting it be a large stand alone structure.

Also didn't hear you talk about your smoke chiminea? If you gave up that idea, a water fogger head (similar to a mister) can achieve a similar effect

the rambling pink verbena i started from a few roots took over and obscured my wagon. it was also making the front yard appear too crowded. solution? find it a new home. it's a woodsy plant so it should be happy down by the riverbank with a few of it's cousins.
