Grape St, from Here to There

Sisters have bold aspirations. In these photos you can follow along beginning to end (opps! nevermind) of ones bathroom makeover.
Also in this album, you can find glimpses of the master plumber, master carpenter, the journeyman electrician, mason&tile setter, drywall installer/finisher, general contractor, and stud. Double stud, that is.
No Sisters were harmed in the making of this documentary.

Dinner?

Everyone is so excited

We had a great visit from cousins that I haven't seen since I was a kid, a yesterday or two. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed their company, they were so easy to be around and familiar, as though there were no years since the last chance meeting at Grandpa/Grandma Cirilos. The time was over way too soon.

Laundry room Makeover

Unfortunately, the bank doesn't think so :(

After several years of unsightly clutter and utilitarian use, it was time to restore the laundry room to it's rightful place. We hope you enjoy these pictures of the finished product as much as we like the new space.

Projects

The beginnings.

Can't afford new furniture? Make some.
A couple of 8' porch posts, plywood, and some 1xs make a formal headboard. The overhead valance was made mostly from leftovers from other projects. Some corner blocks and a couple of fence finials complete the half teester look of the 1800's early 1900.
The bath cabinet was an Arkansas flea market find, homemade doors and towel bar finish it up.

Currier, Ives,, and Twizzlers

I am done building cabinets. This one makes up the butlers pantry.
For lack of something to put in it for the pictures, I am responsible for the currier&ives jug Kay doesn't like, the ducks, and the mason jar with twizzlers for color. Little highlighting to do but otherwise complete.

More Kitchen

First piece is the side panel

After a brief break, we moved over to the wall opposite from the vent-a-hood.
Not nearly as difficult as the hood, but still tedious with the drawers and slides.
Still a long way to go, but not as far as when we started.
