New mantle looks real nice. I knew it was on the agenda, but didn't expect it this soon! Is that cornice board with a dental edging? You musta got a day off today (Wednesday??). Mama sleeping and I'm housekeeping. Putting things away for more efficiency. A necessity in small space like ours.
hard to see much detail in these small pictures. here's a better view: <a href="http://tejasmidget.multiply.com/photos/hi-res/85/7.JPG?xurl=%2Fphotos%2Fphoto%2F85%2F7.JPG>bigger pic</a>

the only reason the door would have been of use is if you needed to close off part of the house for heating or cooling. otherwise, as you noted, it served no real function.

looks like all of the hallway is painted to match the LR. yes? looks good. i feel like mama told you last time. "this is a nice house, son. i'm glad you got it." she's so sweet.
most of the afternoon she's seemed to feel poorly and also told me she feels bad. her face is flushed like it sometimes gets. i really need to buy a blood pressure checker for home. mag and james are off in so. miss. so could not use theirs today. she's in bed already tho and hoprefully tomorrow she'll be more perky.
the hallway is high-gloss belvedere cream, like the alternating stripes on the one long wall of the living area (gloss/eggshell/gloss/eggshell). the window wall had enough breaks in it it didn't need stripes. it is painted eggshell.
ohh! now i see the stripes in photo 22. you guys did an hgtv job on that wall! can't wait to see it in person. might not happen until i'm back fm calif though. not sure if a trip to clayton can be worked into the agenda before i fly out on the 7th.
you don't have to cover the windows. you could put that 'see out but can't see in window film' on it (cause kay won't like it without it). then get some beautifully embellished, pay out the rear-end pole rods and drapes with cording. they are so luxurious they make a grand statement all alone. you could look around on line for something you really like then try to 'sensibly chic' it. you could also get those roll down shades ( the nicer ones) to hide behind the pole drapes that hang just low enough to hide them in the day. then lower them down at night. if you really want to go hg, you could install those fancy push of a button roll down shades (you might have to wait on your income tax or just keep those windows covered) :)
he says he's done everything you can do to a house. framing, siding, roofing, etc. P.S. anthony works at Jeffery's Flower Shop. he has an ice cream job. maybe he will have to work harder in the spring when outdoors landscaping kicks off.
he's s'posed to the the baby, yet he's so grown up! got a girlfriend, had her a good while now. got his DL and darrell's old truck. working and going to school. goodlooking kid too! and sweet. i know you and kay are proud, and well should be.
can't answer for him but i'd say compliments, syrup, & biscuits, syrup & biscuits, and compliments, biscuits, compliments, & syrup. you get the picture.
No, I am not done, yet. Debby wants me to wait until there is more accomplished b4 I post. as for white trim, that is a great favorite of mine, although I also favor creams.

i get an error for that link. can't see any hi res pics on this album. :( hope you aren't too ill and feel better soon.
good job...
i like a lot
starting another wall. too bad we have to cover these picture windows with drapes.
i removed this useless door, painted the hallway the same as the living/dining area to make it an extention of the living room.
more wall art
looks very nice. i like it.

we turned these boring set of closet doors into a work of art with kay's painting.

absolutely love this effect!

way to go! this looks great. do you have a template i can use for those straight lines? :)
now i see why nothing ever gets done over at my place. cause i'll have to do it myself!
she was relieving me for a spell. i used painters tape for the lines, no template.

oh yeah how much does it cost for a boy to come plant some flowers and trees in the hardest ground ever?.
can't answer for him but i'd say compliments, syrup, & biscuits, syrup & biscuits, and compliments, biscuits, compliments, & syrup. you get the picture.
absolutely. man, it's dripping over at my place. i'll call him when i can afford to buy the plants
