Homeowner

kay likes the open look, unfortunately, I can't work this look in

Completely bored, and having so much free time on my hands, I wandered around the place on my day off looking for something to do. Sure enough, in being homeowners, there seemed to be a little thing here and there to occupy our "free" time.....
Carport rotten and leaking...
Tree down in the backyard...
Lean-to shed rotten & leaking...
It is set-in raining cats & dogs so I get an unwanted delay in taking care of things here.

Oh the joy...

I like metal. Not wanting to hopper anything, I'm thinking of doing my interior kitchen ceiling in it. Got the rest of my life to get it done, don't I? :)

Sorry abt that rot. Doesn't look very happy. You're right. Pouring cats and dogs fm the hurricane weather. Lucky that's on the carport and not over the interior of yr living qtrs!

God, I know the feeling. It's a money pit around here.

I have a quote of $620 for for lumber, decking, felt, roll roofing, and misc. I have $730 quoted for metal roof.
I need half of the lumber material quoted before I do the metal type.
There goes my big surprise 21st birthday bash celebration. :(

Can you use the rest of that roll of roofing felt that I have at my place? Dunno if it would be enough. You know better than I do how much of it you and Curt used on my kitchen floor under the tile. Anyway, it's there if it helps.

21st bday. haha. yeah. me too.

Yes, I can use it. Wesley also is donating an unused roll he has. The 15# does 200sqft (I need 3) and the 30# does 100sq ft & I would need 5. I am probably going with the 30 yr architectural(residential) metal but still want to lay 15# felt underneath.

No more pies from this one :(

Yep. Sad...

what about rolled roofing?

Byron @ said...

I am considering rolled roofing, that is approx $100 cheaper than a metal roof, but much less valuable on resale.

Aaron Cirilo said...

makes sense

probably bring more than the $100 extra expended at the outset. you almost can't not do the metal if you think of it like that.

think i got a few new trees out of the mower being loaned out and then having to go into the shop twice before it would mow again--and then a long rain setting in. :)

i told my mowing guy he had mown one of my baby pecans the last time, but i was gonna let it slide bec the back hasn't been mowed since bef i left for calif except for right up by the patio and it needs a bush hog out there - ha ha - so i'm hiring him again. lol. anyway, he only charges 20 or 25 bucks, i forget which. either way it's better than me mowing that acre of hay back there.

Sissy.

Lotus Dale said...

shoot. i was yr sissy bef i hired that lawn mowing guy. *grin*

yep, this is probably the fastest and most doable with my time constraints. I am really good with a bucket of wet or dry too, in case I ever get a leak.
