Although there is much left to be done, hope we accomplished some good, and left a little inspiration.
We also took a little time out for a couple of other things; a family outing at El Rancho,
a visit to Curt's farm, and a ride in Darrell's 'Too Deep' hotrod. Too bad I didn't get a picture :)
Charles & Debby had a short shopping trip Downtown Natchez,
and the girls wished at the Gift Box and Outdoors Galore.

It was so good to see everyone. Aunt Lotus place is looking brighter...I am really going to envy that kitchen. Love the lighting. I know you all worked very hard. With the temps some days being so high and the heat
index being in the triple digits!!! Love all of you.

Yep. If 3 individual roll-up blinds could be found it would leave a good spot for houseplants and seeing out when you want to.
There aren't any before pics. These were taken on the last clean up day.
I enjoyed the company, the learning curves, and even the sparring with Debby. Tough love.

That little missing part of the tray ceiling is reserved for the vent-a-hood. Aaron has volunteered to help me install it one Saturday.
Not this one as I work, maybe next? We can finish the cove molding too if Lotus will pick it up.

This octagonal window was put in by Byron. He engineered the modifications that made it happen using my help only as an extra pair of hands.
In fact, he was responsible for most of what you see here being possible. The lighting was wired and hung by him, as well as the the ovens. he plumbed and installed the sink and faucet. The tray molding around the bead board ceiling was his idea, and the can lights were his work. Of all done here, I merely helped with the ceiling install, and wrapped the cabinets around the design and engineering ideas imposed by Lotus and Byron. I enjoyed myself immensely.
My girl worked really hard on the paint job in this room. Her partnership with Lotus made many things happen, from running for ice, to moving out things that were in the way, to rearranging storage and furniture for greater utility of the space in the house. As always, I'm so proud of her.
The living room painting really brought life into this project. Much thanks to Debby for all the pushing and shoving :0)
You'll notice under the corner cabinet a pair of pillars. Lotus preserved these from an old piano that held sentimental value for her. There is some molding and a front piano panel above the cooking station, too.
You're being quite modest. Without your expertise and hard work, this project was dead in the water
I will be glad to see the shelves, doors, and paint go in. It never ceasing to impress me the tremendous change that the final touches bring to a job.

lol. I think I was probably not online. I've been without internet at home for a good while and I simply haven't been on multiply much even longer than that. For me, it's draw is the history there ... going back fm time to time to look at mama's pics and re-read journal entries. I don't get notifications fm multiply so I don't always catch a post. I'm only here now hoping not to miss a notification of a tool to dnload the old stuff abt mama. I'm not hopeful tho. I fear it will all be lost before long.
I'm concerned about it, too.
