My Wish

This is a collection of my eldest
who has been very much in my thoughts lately.
I've pieced together a few photographs that are memories of
yesterdays, and reminders of our tomorrows.
I call this collection; Growing_Pains

I hope you don't have any trouble viewing this, if it starts a little too fast, either hold back on the blue slider to let it preload, or replay. Here is the quicktime version, which I think out performs the flash scrunching. My wish2

Very nice Byron........this is truly marvelous to see and how you have place this together.
I hope your son is alright and that within your thoughts things are going well.
There is a very natural bond between a father and a son. Often things are never said
but yet they are realized without the words having to be mentioned.

Thanks Jack. My son grew up much too quickly, taking on responsibilities at an early age that many grown men shy away from. My concern is for his happiness and success, and yes, often, things are left unsaid.

Just wonderful, Bro. A great compilation, and a great job of raising the boy. The circularness of it all....

Thanks.
The sequence of events. tho circumstantial, is by no accident. As I have watched Darrell grow, and build his own circle, I take great passion in how he sees life, and in him knowing just how very important he is to us. A piece of my soul goes with him with every step he takes.

I understand. It's as it should be. You've once again said exactly the thoughts I have for my own.

Seems you didn't write much???

At least when the Taliban comes a calling you are going to be ready lol. What makes you worry about him so?

life is complicated sometimes

Ah, yes. With the cords of love for our children pulled so tightly around our hearts there are times when it seems like the ill-fit of new shoes. A soon as the leather softens and the fit is so comfortable the time comes to wear in a new pair. Life brings challenges, hopes, aspirations of our own for them, and dreams for themselves unmatched to our long-held wishes. They win and we sing. They suffer hardship or loss and we never heal with the memory of their pain even when they've grown stronger for it.
New shoes. . . how tight the loosely tautened laces of the newest pairs seem drawn.
Perhaps we love them too much...?

Perhaps. I've pondered that myself sometimes, but I can't help but think that I bear some responsibility for his well being, and wouldn't know how to change that even until the end of time.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Little Brother,
Without a doubt this is to me one of the most beautiful collections of a lifetime of love for your Son. I suppose it so moves me because of my familiarity with your love for your children. You are representative of the grandest attributes of our Daddy in this regard. Like poetry to my heart, having watched these years unfold with you, and watched again the collage recorded here, it plays again with freshness, and begs me read again its fervent lines.
I love you, Little Brother. Your children are fortunate, as are the rest of us for having you.

No doubt

That was beautiful, having 3 sons I know of the hardtimes and growing up to fast. My oldest son also took on the responcibility of parenthood
at an early age and has since gotten full custody of a little girl thats not even his because the mother didn't want her anymore. I am so proud of him, as you are of your sons. We did something right. You seem to be just like my Uncle Charlie, we loved him so much.
