poor boy vacation

vacation pay?i am re-thinking what it means to have a "paid vacation". i think it's a misnomer to call it a paid vacation unless there is an additional vacation paycheck, to take an actual vacation. otherwise, it is just a few days off with your usual pay which has to be used for your regular stuff (which doesn't take a break).

I wish I had all the out-buildings that you have. I am green...

It appears that you have been busy. Debby wishes she had such a large dedicated laundry area, and so useful, too.
I am considering using concrete stain on some of our stuff, but cannot now use that pattern since you have ruined it for me by doing it first. ;o)
It all looks so good.

Why are all of your pictures of painting only of Kay?

Re yr sprawling fan cord: Where I didn't want to cut my cords to shorten them, I tied them up with a bread tie and hid them.

You can do that on the shelf itself, then put a small cup hook on the bottom of that shelf to the very back 180 degrees over the elec outlet, drop the cord straight down behind the haircut sign. Neater, less distracting in yr spiffy bathroom.

You could (optional) then hide the cord running down the wall behind a neat strip of ribbon or whatever you call the stripping fm hardware that's kinda like the metal stripping you put on the floor by doors only it's white, plastic, less conspicuous and used for something else entirely. *grin* I KNOW I'm a lotta help, huh? rofl. Anyway, It's a narrow strip of plastic maybe an inch wide. Instead of 90 degree angle in the middle for corners, it's almost flat but not quite, maybe like 160 degrees or so.

Or just use a couple of hidden staples and stretch it taut. lol.

Love the tile work in the laundry room, even if you did have to work extra hard at leveling it! Everything looks great.

Hope yr bday this week was happy happy.

Ohh! I forgot to tell you. Been telling mama for several days we were gonna go see you "tomorrow" cause she wants to go somewhere everyday. Well, we went to town to the post office and when we got home, she didn't want to get outta the van. She kept hollering, "No, you told me!" I got her to the door and almost inside she hollers at me, "Take me to Clayton!" ROFL. I didn't realize she even understood you live in Clayton now, even if she did tell you that's a nice place you moved now. I know she has a hard time not pacing sometimes, but I guess she still wants to come see you. I gotta bring her again. Love ya.

got to be careful with concrete stain...they rarely smoothly with concrete over a year old. unless... the guys around here are just ignorant about how to do it.

because she can't use the camera?

nothing fancy about the stain i'm using. comes in a one gallon bucket from sherwin-williams and goes down just like paint but dry in an hour. waiting on curtis to get me the professional guys recipe was getting boring (they do some mixture of dye and acid in a sprayer). i thought about drawing black lines on the tile red, both standard pre-mixed colors, to create a tiled effect. might do that chas and it will be first.

We lost half of our garage while doing the Kitchen. Afterwards i attempted to put it out on the curb for bulk pick-up. The city refused to pick it up. Mayor said "if you don't like the way we run the city, run for mayor next election". My reply?
I said, "Sounds like 'tough tittie said the city' ."
