After a brief break, we moved over to the wall opposite from the vent-a-hood.
Not nearly as difficult as the hood, but still tedious with the drawers and slides.
Still a long way to go, but not as far as when we started.

I bet kay loves that! Will you go ahead and build the refrigerator in like Charles did? I want mine built in (when I ever get to that part of the kitchen).
This side is smart for getting the microwave and the tv up off the cabinet. I also like that the shelf abt the fridge gets stuff off of the top of the fridge. The glass cab doors and the crown look good and the added detail of the arch on the microwave shelf is a plus.
I'm liking those thick shelves like the one you installed here. I'd like to have some done without visible supports. I've been reading on the net how that is done and it seems doable. Watched two or three youtubes and read several discussions to get more than one perspective.
I have shelves that I purchased at dirt bag way back so it's really a matter of making it happen. I'm tight on funds tho so anything that cost money has to wait. No paydays until Sep 9 and then I'll be on catch up fpr at least the first two or three checks.
great job on the crown over the door too! i like that bit of braid you have on it! i want that kind of detail except not the braid. i wouldn't mind dental trim or just plain. this looks great!

yech! you were like daddy. good teeth. he never had cavities and then they just started getting loose. i was there when he bit into an apple and the first one ever just came out. after losing that one, they just came one after another until he finally had to get his set of false teeth.
i have always had bad teeth. they were taking me to the dentist regularly fm the time i was a small kid getting cavities repaired. i still remember a lot of those trips and the circumstances surrounding them. as an adult, the process has continued for years. often i've had to have the same teeth redrilled and filled again and again. even after i got every last one done and the worst pulled and the partials made, two of the teeth that the upper partial had to hang onto just cavitied out on me again. Right now they are bad and a third one is going bad. it's been very frustrating because no amt of care helps. Brush teeth four and five times a day and the cavities still come. They just have never held up.
haha. get that string out and tie it to the tooth and to the door. slam the door closed. see if that won't work.
that's how emmy got her last one pulled after watching a bunch of teeth-pulling home jobs on youtube. lol

Go to a store like Hobby Lobby that sells sconce shelves. They make great corbels.

Love the door molding and trim! I think I have a couple sets of corbels in Jigger. Just don't remember what styles. If you get there before I do, you can ask Jen to help you get in the house and look for them. She just lives on the next corner from my trailer now_ right by the store. Unless you want to wait a spell. I just don't know when I'll be going over there again. I'm sure it won't be forever though.

No, those are useless for a back molar. You cannot get a hold of a molar like that. A preacher we know did that and crushed his tooth under the pressure of the pliers and there he was with a mess. He wound up using a chisel and hammer. Don't do it! Maybe you just need a filling. Save up your soda water money and go to, Sicily Island and take your income statement and get whatever you need done on a sliding scale. But if you get crazy do like Chal said and video it. :)

I've opted out on building in. There is no one size fits all, and ours is fairly small @18 cf. I would be stuck with the same size forever.
I also like the open floor space we gained just by shoving the box over. See my nice coal tater bin?

Lampshade. It's similar to antique white but less yellow.
It seemed easy enough, I'm no crybaby like everybody else, but I just chipped it. I'm wiggling it up for a while now. Don't want to save it cause I have too many teeth already, and some more still trying to break the skin. Gives me TMJ.

I wondered if it were going to replace your old tater bin or yr trash can, then i decided that it would be a real shame to put it in the trash can cabinet so you definitely needed a use for it that let it be out in the open!
I thought there should be a way to build one of those tall skinny shelves - maybe the width for a couple of cans or so - that could take up space to one side of the fridge but also you could eliminate it rather easily when your fridge grew in width.
you'd make the total space wide enough for a 33" or 36" - whatever is a standard size, but subdivide it into floor space for the fridge and this skinny cabinet anchored to one side.
Just unanchor and remove when you buy a wider fridge.
I've been thinking on this for a while. Just throwing it out there. :)

I actually like this one best. It doesn't compete with anything and is still unique. Of course, I wouldn't turn the other one down either. But this is probably a better choice for decorating around.

Yep. Keeping the original wall to wall cabinets was always in my thoughts. The cabinet door has a limiter on it to keep it from banging the new one.

Corbels are among the most expensive of building materials, so you paid modestly enough for them.
The chairs were a bargain, and it doesn't hurt that they are nice looking, too.
