Dinner?

Everyone is so excited

We had a great visit from cousins that I haven't seen since I was a kid, a yesterday or two. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed their company, they were so easy to be around and familiar, as though there were no years since the last chance meeting at Grandpa/Grandma Cirilos. The time was over way too soon.

Interesting. Had never heard of them. Teeny tiny lobsters. They look like bugs.

He's so ugly, that's why we like him. Also, the neighbors dog is bigger.

So the neighbors dog bit him in the face?

Byron @ said...

All the time. Soon as we heal him up he gets in another fight over the girls.

I'm kidding about the lobster. Although they do resemble them, they are closer to salt water shrimp. Crayfish, aka crawfish, aka mud bugs. They are seasonal and
thrive in backwater swamp lands and ditches. It's an acquired taste.

The neighbors should tie up their dogs.I would have a talk with them. Poor doggie.

I think I will pass lol.

We had grilled chicken and beef ribs on standby for the quesy.

I wish I could have been there, too. It looks like ya'll packed a lot of fun into a limited amount of time.
And the crawfish would only have made it that more fun and memorable. Yum.
I got a real kick out of some of the expressions on their faces, yet I was glad to see Elida tried the crawfish.
There isn't a photo of Linda chowing down. Did she try them?

Music Of Kaitee Dal Pra ♕ said...

I could go for them.

Love all the pics! They look like they were having a blast. I'm the queasy; never brave enough to try crawfish. I shoulda went over with them. Looks like I missed the chicken and ribs. Did they spend the night? They were in too big of a hurry. We certainly enjoyed our visit too. I really want them to do that again sometime when they have more days.

Lydia Carroll said...

haha. yes I see you Bunz. :)

Lydia Carroll said...

I want some!

Lydia Carroll said...

3 little peaches?! No wonder she didn't want to share.

Lydia Carroll said...

I don't see Darrell's girl anywhere.

Byron @ said...

She declined :(

Linda ate them like a pro. She has eaten them before on their trips to New Orleans. We love Linda! Elida was a blast, classic family humor, and fun. We love her too!.Wishing their little sister could have come as well.

It was much too late for them to travel after supper. It was our pleasure to have them overnight.

Some of the best pics were too blurry to post. Did you notice "Yellers" sheepish grin? He was smiling for you.

Charles Cirilo said...

Yes, I noticed Yeller's grin. I pointed it out to Debby.

Lydia Carroll said...

I was thinking the same

Lydia Carroll said...

Awh, Thats great. You lucky guys!

Maybe another day Hubby Ron can tag along. He is an avid sportsman and collector, and is a member of the American Hunters and Shooters Association [I think].
He and the boys would have hit it off real well sharing war stories, showing off their collection, and probably going to the shooting range.

WOW, that looks so good!!

Byron @ said...

Not bad at all. Forgot the dipping sauce though.

:) nice caption. lol

Lotus Dale said...

haha. I look thrilled, don't I? I do like the taste. It's just the idea of eating crawdeads that gets me. That, and all the work it takes to get that little piece of meat out of the shell! Everything was delicious! Thanks for hosting!

Lotus Dale said...

Yes. Both of them. Loved it!

Lotus Dale said...

lol ... you gotta live really out in the boonies for this to be the entertainment. :)))
